On Friday 11th November 2022, we hosted our first ever Networking Event at ADL Consultancy. It has long been one of our objectives to bring some of our existing and potential clients under one roof, so we were delighted to have our first opportunity last month.

It was a great chance for our consultants to mingle and get to know clients they may not regularly visit. In turn, I think our clients appreciated the opportunity to get to know the full family. The day was hosted by one of our Health & Safety experts, Martin Ellington, who did a brilliant job in welcoming everybody.

One of the first items included a presentation from our consultant, David Points, who revealed some exciting plans for 2023. Over the past couple of years, we have quietly been working on our own ISO system to be hosted within SharePoint. David, who has been spearheading this project (affectionally known as ADL-a), was able to give us an update on how it is progressing as well as some of the functionality we are currently designing. We were also pleased to be able to introduce our clients to Juan Pedro Marquez, the developer we are working closely alongside to deliver this exciting project. Watch this space in 2023…

We were also pleased to introduce Ian Shorten, who has previously worked for IT Governance. Ian kindly gave us a summary of the new ISO27001:2002 standard and some of the high level changes to expect. Companies have a period of 3 years to transition across to this new standard.

One of the day’s highlights was hearing from Michael Venner. Michael is currently the CEO of Auva Certification and is well respected within the aerospace sector. Michael delivered an interesting piece on risk based thinking within internal audits, and how this can benefit businesses. The presentations were concluded on a section on lean based thinking, and the benefits of thinking ‘lean.’

The event was enjoyed by everyone in attendance, and finished in style with a superb buffet style lunch.

We look forward to welcoming you back again next year!!
