Today we are talking to our newest consultant. We wanted to help you get to know him a little better. Hello, Uncle Joseph. Oh. Hi, Sophie and Olivia, it’s really good to be with you. Thanks for having me. What did you like most about school? What I liked most about school. Hmm. That’s a tough question. I think the best part of my day at school was going home at the end of it. But when I think of it, um, maybe sports was what I enjoyed the most about school, particularly playing rugby with my friends.

What was the first job he had and why did you like it? Well, let me think. Um, the first job I ever had was as a landscape gardener. Yeah. Um, I actually worked for a famous author and scriptwriter who lived in my local village in Yorkshire. And actually I really enjoyed that job, mainly because at the end of the week you were satisfied with the hard work you put in. You could really see what you’ve done throughout the week. And obviously as a 15 year old earning £65 a day, I was really happy with that too.

Did you enjoy working in London? Yes, I mostly enjoyed working in the city. Um, London is a very unique work environment and you learn many valuable lessons. You meet amazing people with skills in a variety of sectors from all around the world. So that’s really what I enjoyed about working in London. However, having done that for about eight years, I don’t really miss the expense of it and I certainly don’t miss the travel.

What’s your favourite colour and why? My favourite colour, I’d say, is probably blue like the sea, because it makes me think of going on holiday.

What made you want to be an ISO consultant? Well, to be honest, um, until I was offered the position here. I hadn’t really thought about being an ISO consultant very much. Um, but I can’t say that I was looking for, like, a new work challenge. Um, something different. And ISO was something I could definitely find enjoyable and challenging at the same time. So there wasn’t really, like a light bulb moment. However, I do find this this new job, the world of ISO very interesting, very diverse.

What’s your first impression of ADL Consultancy? Oh well, that’s another great question. Um, well, for starters, ADL have two very professional podcast hosts called Sophie and Olivia. We’re definitely looking forward to more episodes in the future. Girls, keep up the good work. Uh, but really, to answer your question, um, my first impressions were really good. Um, particularly when you think of, like, the variety of standards that, um, ADL specialize in. That was quite impressive. Um, and it’s an exciting place to be working right now. For example, and you may have heard, we’re awaiting the launch of ADL-a, a brand new quality management system software that ADL have developed from scratch. And there’s nothing quite like it out there in the ISO world right now. So that’s something we really want to be a part of.

What do you feel you can bring to this business? Well, it’s hard to say straight off the bat. Um, it’s still quite early days. I think the more time passes, the more my role will be defined in the company. And what you contribute becomes a little clearer as well, over time. Um, but I think having a self-employed background, I have learnt some, some good values, especially of, um, commitment or sort of determination. I really believe they have an important part in business itself because, you know, when you work for yourself, sometimes there are challenges, sometimes things come up and it’s difficult. It’s almost like, and you may have heard this before, it’s almost like you versus you, um, it’s you against you situation. If you know what I mean. And for example, you can’t blame if you’re self-employed, you can’t blame somebody else for the mistakes that you have made. Um, no, that’s that’s on you, isn’t it? You can’t pass the buck on, so to speak. No, that’s that’s on you. Um, you have to create opportunities each day. You have to keep motivated, um, to run your own business, etc., etc.. Um, so all of these factors and, and many more, they drive you to be how can we say that all in, so to speak, are they drive you to be committed to a cause, to a company? So now I’m part of this ADL team. I really hope that I can bring that determination, that drive to the table and have it be of some value.

Thank you for answering our questions. You’re very welcome. And again, thank you so much for having me on your podcast, girls. It’s actually been amazing to be one of your first guests, and we’re all going to look out for more future episodes. On behalf of everyone, our ADL consultants say welcome, Joseph.
